About the role
We are actively searching for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Project Coordinator to join our esteemed team at Spearhead. The successful candidate will assume an important role in supporting the Digital Planning department, with a primary focus on ensuring the seamless execution of projects through Design Assist and Fabrication. The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, technical proficiency, and collaboration with various teams to ensure the efficient execution of tasks across different project phases.

The Project Coordinator position centers on the creation of digital models, shop drawings, and fabrication strategies, serving as a valuable member of the project team. This position presents a unique opportunity to actively contribute to world-class residential and commercial projects across North America. This is a full-time office position, offering an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a substantial impact in a collaborative and innovative work environment.

 

Reporting Structure
Reports to: Project Managers on a project-specific basis
Oversees: Not Applicable

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

Project Strategy Development

  • Contribute to Design Assist initiatives as directed by Project Managers, involving digital models, concept exploration and testing, graphic scope overviews, budgetary pricing, connection proposals, schedules, and project logistics.
  • Collaborate with team members to find innovative solutions to complex problems.

 

Modelling & Drafting

  • Convert digital models between various software, ensuring effective and consistent BIM organization and adherence to standards.
  • Develop 3D models and create shop drawing packages under the guidance and supervision of experienced team members.

 

Estimating

  • Provide support to project teams in estimating and quoting efforts as required.
  • Assist project teams in creating various project documentation, including scope proposals, strategy proposals, and connection proposals, to facilitate project estimating.
  • Generate material take-offs and perform quantity surveying on a project-specific basis as directed by Project Managers.

 

Purchasing

  • Contribute to project-specific material procurement and purchasing as directed by the project team

 

Fabrication Support

  • Collaborate with the Technical Office to prepare projects for CNC processing and fabrication.
  • Create project-specific production drawings and lists.
  • Documents and monitors project fabrication processes.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in architecture, project management, construction management, or experience in a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in timber fabrication, mass timber, architecture, or construction industry
  • Proficiency in modelling software (Revit and/or Rhino, Cadwork is a bonus)
  • Familiarity with architectural and construction processes, terminology, and documentation
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results
  • Respect for confidential information

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, particularly framing or carpentry
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud

 

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation packages. Remuneration depends on experience and qualifications (base salary bracket of $60,000 – $75,000 / year)

The pay range for this role is: $60,000 – 75,000 CAD per year (Nelson, BC)
