Production Manager – Afternoon Shift

Cabinet Manufacturer hires a Production Manager

The afternoon shift plant manager will be responsible for approximately 40 employees.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily activities of approximately 40 hourly employees in various departments (Assembly, Panel Processing, Finishing)
  • Ensure safe working environment for all employees and maintaining safe working practices
  • Work with other managers and Senior staff to establish and manage production workload/schedule while taking resources and processes into account
  • Achieve production goals while maintaining quality standards
  • Suggests corrective actions to improve quality and productivity
  • Provide training, motivation and guidance to employees
  • Responsible to ensure plant/offices are locked up at shift end
  • Respond to calls from security company
  • Conduct regular performance reviews

 

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum 5 years management experience in cabinet or furniture manufacturing
  • Hands on experience in running woodworking machinery an asset
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety standards
  • Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication, time management , problem solving  and critical thinking skills
  • Familiar with continuous improvement systems an assets
  • Ability to promote team building and collaboration
  • Able to multi task and adapt to new environments
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft MS
