We work in a variety of residential and commercial settings manufacturing and installing custom built products.
 Job Purpose   
The Cabinet Maker is responsible for building, repairing and installing cabinetry and related products. An effective Cabinet Maker is adaptable and quick to learn new skills. They comprehend instructions and problem solve to execute them effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities
·       Study plans, specifications, drawings and blueprints
·       Carry out measurement tasks
·       Select and combine materials for an attractive end-product
·       Mark outlines or dimensions for product parts on wood
·       Operate woodworking machines such as table saws, jointers, edge banders, and shapers and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
·       Machine and trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit using glue, clamps, nails, dowels, screws or other fasteners
·       Sand surfaces and apply veneer, stain, paint or polish to finished products
·       Install finished products on job sites
·       Assisting coworkers with other priority tasks within the shop or on site including but not limited to    processing and installing countertops
·       May estimate the amount, type and cost of materials needed
·       Additional related duties as assigned
·       Follow company standard operating procedures

Qualifications
●      Red Seal Certification as a Cabinet Maker or Joiner (completion of 4th year apprenticeship)
●      Outstanding knowledge of different cabinet making materials and techniques
●      Experience with appropriate tools and equipment
●      Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
●      Capability to evaluate the quality of woodwork and materials

·       Able to lift heavy items independently (approx. 100lbs)
·       A valid Driver’s license is an asset
·       First aid certificate is an asset
·       Forklift certification is an asset

 Working Conditions 
●      May require standing for prolonged periods, climbing, pulling, bending or twisting the body
●      May involve exposure to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors
●      May involve exposure to contaminants or chemicals (e.g. fumes from paints or sealers)
●      May involve use of hazardous machinery or equipment
●      May require lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds, etc.
●      Overtime and hours outside of typical working schedule may be required
●      Some travel may be required
