Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario (WMCO)

WMCO is the only industry-led cluster organization for the value-added wood industry in Canada. Based on the Porterian cluster model as adopting across the EU, WMCO serves all segments of the wood manufacturing industry in Ontario. We are looking for highly motivated and outgoing person to fulfil the role of Sr Project Manager.

The position involves regional travel in Ontario.

Reports to:  WMCO Chief Executive Officer

Qualifications:

·       Post secondary education in a related field

·       Minimum 10 years experience in related project management and client service

·       Minimum 2 yrs Supervisory and leadership experience

·       Knowledge of and experience in the wood product manufacturing industry (asset but not necessary)

Required Skills:

·       Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, presentation, and social)

·       Group Presentation and facilitation skills

·       Outgoing, extroverted, and gregarious ability to develop relationships

·       Ability to work independently and self-managed

·       Ability to take initiative and problem solve

·       Supervisory experience and ability to lead others effectively

·       Proficient using Microsoft office 365 (word, excel, power point, forms, and other platforms).

·       Knowledge of use of social media platforms

·       Use of car and ability to travel in Ontario

Position Scope:

Areas of Responsibility

In strategic collaboration with the CEO and other WMCO team members and board of directors, able to perform and lead the execution of:

1.      Member Engagement/Retention:

·       Regular member visits and contact to maintain member engagement with WMCO activities

·       Identify member needs, trends, ideas, and opportunities to drive WMCO events and activities

·       Communicate above needs and trends to CEO and staff to create and drive WMCO programming and projects

·       Help connect industry members to solutions and resources for their success

·       Track the above data on companies and WMCO activities above using shared tools and processes

·       Utilize website and social media to engage WMCO members

·       Intervention/support with account receivables

2.      WMCO Program Development/Event Facilitation

·       Identify needs and trends for event themes from members

·       Schedule, Organize, Host and Facilitate WMCO events as required in collaboration with CEO and WMCO staff

·       Identification of and coordination of technical needs and solutions to execute events and with streaming and recording/video catalogue

·       Tracking of member attendance and activity using established processes; lead/support staff members

3.      Business Development/Sales

WMCO Membership Development:

·       Marketing and sales of new WMCO memberships

·       Tracking of new member lead development and follow-up

·       Relationship development with prospective members

·       Follow-ups with prospects to attend and engage in WMCO events and programming

·       Closing of member sales and achieving sales targets as per strategic plan

·       Network with all relevant organizations and stakeholders to raise the awareness of the WMCO and increase profile

·       Participate in stakeholder activities where appropriate (committees, events, etc) to raise profile of WMCO

·       Provide community presentations to stakeholders as required

·       Relationship development with all possible stakeholders in industry, government, academia, and community organizations

·       Intervention/support with account receivables

·       Trade Shows: attend and promote WMCO

Revenue Stream Development

·       Management of Associate Member sponsorships

·       Identification of new possible revenue streams for the cluster

4.      Communication/Outreach

·       Creation of and posting of news articles on events and activities and updates to website and social media

·       Development of reports and tracking of member activities and data as required

·       Regular communication with WMCO members, CEO, WMCO staff

·       Bi-weekly reports on activity

·       Moderation of and management of social media networks

·       Relationship building with key partners

·       Pro-active relationship building with team members in remote working environment

Website Management

·       Work closely with program administrator and web provider, stakeholders, to improve and manage relevant features of the site

·       Posting of news items and event updates

·       Oversee management certain areas of website to ensure proper engagement: hits, Google analytics, WMCO promotional strategies

Master Contact List

·       Use of platforms to enter and update contacts

·       Provide direction to admin on strategic management of contacts

·       Provide ongoing new data of contacts to grow list and expand database

·       Work with WMCO team on managing database platforms

5.      Project Management:

·       Management and facilitation of active projects as required: Timelines. Milestones, Outcomes, Reporting

·       Financial management of projects and provision of direction to administrative support for managing claims and related information as required

·       Liaise with government stakeholders where required

·       Project member communications as required

6.      Other tasks evolve with this dynamic position with future opportunities for advancement
