The Opportunity<\/p>\n
Terlin is currently searching for a temporary full-time, experienced, and dynamic Millwork Programmer & Drafter to join our Millwork Division team. Someone who has a passion for woodworking and being part of the process of transforming raw materials into custom pieces. Responsibilities<\/p>\n
The Millwork Programmer & Drafter is an integral member of the team who is responsible for delivering custom and fine millwork projects.<\/p>\n
The Millwork Programmer & Drafter will focus on engaging with the estimating and production management team to share quality control assurance responsibilities. Our ideal candidate is a drafting professional with knowledge of production and value engineering.<\/p>\n
The responsibilities of this role include analyzing projects to create shop drawings for production, identifying design problems, and providing solutions. Specifically:<\/p>\n
Producing timely and accurate detailed shop drawings from architectural drawings while understanding shop construction techniques.
\nWorking within a multi-functional team to review job requirements, manage changes in drawings and additions in order to create a clearly defined path of construction for the shop.
\nKeeping approved shop drawings current, organized, and easily accessible.
\nPrograming custom AutoCad shapes in ArtCam.
\nVisiting construction sites in order to take precise measurements.
\nReviewing and revising drawings as per mark ups and site measurements
\nPerforming material take-offs of shop drawings \/ Cabinet Vision for ordering of final quantities.
\nPrograming cabinets in Cabinet Vision, add new materials, and create job material schedules.
\nIdentifying possible problems with designs and construction
\nThe successful candidate is a self-starter who possesses passion, is organized, detail-oriented, has a positive attitude, celebrates success \/ learns from mistakes as a team, has a strong desire to do great work, and knowledge of millwork construction.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
3+ years of experience in commercial millwork or similar, related business.
\nComputer savvy with 3+ years experience and proven understanding of CNC programming, CAD, Cabinet Vision construction methods, and CAM.
\nAbility to read and interpret construction plans and written specifications.
\nImpeccable eye for design detail and accuracy.
\nAbility\u202fto\u202fcommunicate\u202fclearly\u202fwhile working effectively with people.
\nWillingness to take on the big projects as well as the smaller ones.
\nResults-driven approach.
\nAbility to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
\nFlexible and able to deal with a high stress environment.
\nPositive, professional, team player attitude.
\nAbility to recognize issues as challenges.
\nA valid Secret security clearance (or ability to successfully obtain same) is a requirement of the position
\nBilingual (English and French) would be considered an asset
\nA valid driver\u2019s license is required
