Job Summary
\nWe are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Senior Millwork Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the estimation process for complex millwork projects, ensuring accurate cost projections and competitive pricing. Your expertise will drive project success from initial concept through to final bid submission, collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional value and quality.<\/p>\n
**This is an on-site\/in office every day position<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Experience with preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for millwork construction projects.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Analyze project drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine scope and materials.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Calculate material, labour, and time costs for woodworking and cabinetry projects.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Create material takeoffs and labour estimates according to specifications.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Use estimating software Innergy to streamline the process.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Solicit subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Develop detailed and competitive proposals for clients.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all estimates align with company objectives and client expectations.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, quality, and availability.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Estimate quantification and costing of general conditions, labour, and equipment.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Coordinate with project managers, designers, and production teams to assess project scope and feasibility.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Attend site visits as required to gather project-specific information.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and team members for project clarity.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Lead project handover meetings and support project setup post-award.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Assist in value engineering efforts by proposing cost-effective alternatives.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Hands-on understanding of woodworking, cabinetry, materials, and fabrication techniques.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Stay current on industry pricing, materials, and fabrication trends.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Analyze completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs and identify discrepancies.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Identify project risks and cost-saving opportunities during estimation.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, contingencies, and escalation.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Collaborate with suppliers to obtain pricing on materials, finishes, and hardware.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE\/EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Minimum 5-10 years of experience in estimating within architectural millwork, cabinetry, or related construction trades.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Strong knowledge of millwork materials, construction methods, and joinery techniques.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and estimating software (Innergy)<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Hands-on experience in woodworking or cabinetmaking is a strong asset. Experience preparing both conceptual and detailed estimates for design-build or high-end architectural projects.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ability to work independently and part of a team and be able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Strong understanding of millwork processes, materials, and machinery<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Have knowledge of various materials used in the industry i.e., metal, wood, acrylic, glass etc.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ability to read and interpret Structural & Architectural drawings and specifications accurately.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Knowledge of construction structures, materials, and processes<\/p>\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\/EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Have knowledge of Bluebeam and Innergy software programs<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Familiarity with Ontario Building Code or local regulations (if applicable).<\/p>\n
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Appropriate and relevant educational background and training, supported by ongoing professional development.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Experience working with construction and contractors within a manufacturing environment.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ability to work with a diverse group of people and build interpersonal connections and trust.<\/p>\n
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Knowledge and experience using Innergy and Bluebeam software<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Familiarity with AWMAC standards considered an asset<\/p>\n

Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills.
