{"id":1370,"date":"2026-08-12T16:13:33","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T16:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodworkingjobs.ca\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=1370"},"modified":"2026-09-12T00:09:26","modified_gmt":"2026-09-12T00:09:26","slug":"bowermans-squamish-bc-8-cnc-operator-and-programmer","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/woodworkingjobs.ca\/fr\/?post_type=job_listing&p=1370","title":{"rendered":"CNC Operator and Programmer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Load materials, set tooling, and operate the HOMAG CNC to cut and rout components to spec<\/li>\n<li>Program, edit, and run WoodWOP files, building efficient and accurate toolpaths for each job<\/li>\n<li>Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and part layouts to translate design intent into machine-ready programs<\/li>\n<li>Ensure grain matching is maintained throughout each piece<\/li>\n<li>Inspect components for precision and consistency, ensuring parts meet specifications before release to assembly or finishing<\/li>\n<li>Perform basic machine maintenance, calibration, and cleaning to keep the CNC in top operating condition<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the design\/drafting team to review, troubleshoot, and refine files ahead of production<\/li>\n<li>Track material usage and communicate inventory or tooling needs<\/li>\n<li>Organize and label cut components efficiently to streamline downstream production<\/li>\n<li>Operate the edge bander to apply edge banding to cut components<\/li>\n<li>Step in to support the cabinet making team as needed<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to production scheduling by communicating lead times and machine status to the shop manager<\/li>\n<li>Participate in our daily improvement time, 5S, and Kanban practices, and help keep CNC-related SOPs current<\/li>\n<li>Pitch in on general shop duties, including occasional forklift use and common hand and power tools<\/li>\n<li>Support occasional jig- and fixture-building for special projects as needed<\/li>\n<li>Additional duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC machinery in a cabinetry, millwork, or woodworking environment<\/li>\n<li>Experience programming with WoodWOP (HOMAG) required; experience with other CNC platforms considered an asset<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists, and production files<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills, with comfort learning and troubleshooting new software<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and repeatability<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with materials used in cabinetry (MDF, plywood, hardwoods, laminates, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and organizational skills; comfortable collaborating with design\/drafting staff<\/li>\n<li>Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods throughout the shift<\/li>\n<li>Committed to workplace safety and continuous improvement<\/li>\n<li>Experience with LEAN manufacturing practices (5S, Kanban, etc.) an asset<\/li>\n<li>Forklift certification an asset<\/li>\n<li>A team player who brings solutions, not just problems, and works well with others<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"author":312,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_promoted":"","_job_location":"Squamish, BC","_application":"emma@bowermans.ca","_company_name":"Bowermans","_company_website":"https:\/\/bowermans.ca\/","_company_tagline":"Architectural millwork","_company_twitter":"","_company_video":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_remote_position":0,"_job_salary":"","_job_salary_currency":"","_job_salary_unit":""},"job-categories":[25],"job-types":[8],"class_list":["post-1370","job_listing","type-job_listing","status-expired","hentry","job-type-full-time"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 -
