As a Cabinet\/Furniture Painter-Finisher, you play an important role in creating the high-quality finished products our customers expect from Potvin. Working as part of our paint shop team, you will apply stains, paints, varnishes, and other finishes to custom cabinetry and components, ensuring every piece meets our quality standards. In this role, you will prepare surfaces, match colours and finishes to approved control samples, apply finishing products using appropriate techniques and equipment, and inspect completed work for consistency and quality.<\/p>\n
This position requires strong knowledge of wood finishing techniques, attention to detail, a steady hand and pride in producing exceptional work. Your craftsmanship will have a direct impact on the appearance, durability, and overall quality of our finished cabinetry.<\/p>\n
What You\u2019ll Be Doing<\/p>\n
Prepare cabinet and furniture surfaces for finishing, including sanding, cleaning, and other required preparation
\nApply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishing products using appropriate techniques and equipment
\nMatch colours, stains, and finishes to approved control samples
\nInspect finished products to ensure colour, coverage, texture, and overall quality meet established standards
\nComplete touch-ups and corrections as required
\nClean, maintain, and safely operate painting and finishing equipment
\nFollow established safety procedures and requirements when handling finishing products and equipment
\nCoordinate with production team members to ensure work is completed according to production schedules
\nMaintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
\nIdentify quality concerns and communicate issues that may affect production or the finished product
\nWhat You Bring<\/p>\n
2\u20135 years of experience as a painter-finisher in cabinet, furniture, millwork, or a similar manufacturing environment
\nStrong knowledge of wood finishing techniques and surface preparation
\nExperience working with paints, stains, varnishes, and other wood finishing products
\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
\nExperience using and maintaining painting and finishing equipment
\nAbility to identify imperfections and complete precise touch-ups and corrections
\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently within production timelines
\nEffective communication and teamwork skills
\nA strong commitment to workplace safety and proper material handling
