Department:<\/strong> Engineering
\nReports to:<\/strong> Foundry Engineering Technician<\/p>\n

Job Summary:<\/strong> The Foundry Tooling Technician is responsible for the preparation, modification, maintenance, repair, and the construction of new foundry tooling<\/p>\n

Job Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Repair all foundry tooling (pattern equipment) following the instructions established by Engineering
\n\u2022 Alter the gating systems design following the instructions given by Engineering
\n\u2022 Competent in manual bench work
\n\u2022 Construct foundry tooling based on blueprints or sketches.
\n\u2022 Comply with deadlines established by Engineering and Production
\n\u2022 Use utmost discretion in dealing with company and customers’ confidential data
\n\u2022 Ensure that the workplace is clean and free of any unnecessary tools
\n\u2022 Responsible for cleaning equipment and work station on a daily basis
\n\u2022 Meet production standards as specified in job order and\/or ISO documents
\n\u2022 Operate equipment in a safe manner, including to immediately report any equipment malfunction
\n\u2022 May perform other tasks as deemed appropriate<\/p>\n

Safety Equipment Requirement: <\/strong>The use of appropriate safety equipment as described below is a condition of employment and not one of choice. Safety equipment that must be worn while performing job responsibilities are as follows:
\n\u2219 Face shield
\n\u2219 Helmet
\n\u2219 Safety glasses
\n\u2219 Safety boots
\n\u2219 Ear plugs
\n\u2219 Respirator as required
\n\u2219 Apron<\/p>\n

Experience and Skill Requirements:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Ability to read Blueprints
\n\u2022 Prior woodworking experience will be preferred with 2 to 3 years of minimum experience.
\n\u2022 Good working knowledge of foundry processes and equipment operation
\n\u2022 Patternmaker must provide his\/her own hand tools, as they will be used along with company tools
\n\u2022 Strong skills and knowledge using micrometers, calipers and other gauges, as well as wood and metal processing machinery such as, but not limited to: hand tools, planer, jointer, table saw, drill press, milling machine, and general pattern shop equipment
\n\u2022 Ability to work independently and within a team without supervision environment with little or no supervision
\n\u2022 Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
\n\u2022 Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
\n\u2022 Ability to follow appropriate departmental work instructions, including health and safety rules and procedures
\n\u2022 Good communication skills, including the ability to read, write and speak English
\n\u2022 Patternmaker certification is an asset
\n\u2022 Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize jobs, and be highly organized<\/p>\n
