Ebony Architectural Woodwork Ltd. is a small, AWMAC accredited shop in the Fraser Valley. Our main focus is high-end residential projects, which are always highly detailed and very interesting. Each project is different, and usually incorporates many different materials and finishes including solid wood, veneers, laminates, steel and solid surface.

We are looking for a qualified person with at least 3-4 years experience in a millwork shop, ideally doing custom projects.

The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Cutting veneer panels, paying attention to panel orientation, and aligning grain pattern between adjacent panels.
• Machining and installing cabinet hardware, including pivot and sliding cabinet doors, and pivot hinges.
• Edgebanding panels, and sanding ready for finishing.
• Assembling custom cabinets using parts cut on a CNC.
• Creating custom components that incorporate metal, wood and solid surface materials such as reception desks, custom vanities, and built-in millwork.
• Fabricating countertops with laminate and solid surface material.

The successful candidate for this position will be:

• Able to read blueprints and build to tight tolerances.

• Knowledgeable of millwork materials and best assembly practices.
• Confident and safe when working with shop machinery.

• A good communicator.

We believe in a better work/life balance than typical employers offer, so we work on a 4 day work week. Every Friday is a day off. Monday through Thursday inclusive are 9 hour days (6:30am to 4:00pm), totalling a 36 hour work week. Plus there is an opportunity for more hours if desired.
