Richply, a world-class plywood manufacturing facility, is looking for a full-time Maintenance Engineer for their first-class steam plant.

Required Qualifications

• 4th Class or higher Power Engineer Certificate valid in BC.
• Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in first class plant and/or second-class plant high pressure steam plant.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative, corrective maintenance and regular repairs with minimum supervision in first-class steam plant.
• Maintenance/repair of steam plant equipment providing steam, water, compressed air and condensate recovery.
• Repair various equipment such as PRV’s, steam traps, pumps, and biomass and natural gas fired boilers and auxiliary equipment.
• Have experience in using the oxygen/acetylene torch and basic welding.
• Inventory of parts, materials and supplies in steam plant.
• Ensure efficient operation of steam supply and condensate return including lines, valves, traps, heat exchangers and pumps.
• Completion of work orders as assigned and working with contractors as needed.
• Work with operations departments to maintain, troubleshoot and repair Boilerhouse equipment in production areas.
• Daily repairs to equipment causing losses or inefficiencies in the steam plant.
• Other duties assigned by shift engineer and/or chief engineer.

Work Conditions/Schedule

• Work on weekends, long weekends and overtime as required (Regular shift Sunday – Thursday 06:45– 14:45).
• Physically able to perform the job.
• Able to work from boom lifts at high elevations.
• Good attendance record.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Commitment to safety and the environment.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, lift up to 50lbs and work in dusty environments.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic (computerized) controls safely and efficiently.
• Operate mechanical and power tools safely and efficiently.
