Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Delivery Driver/Shop Floor Labourer to join our team at All Wood Fine Interiors Ltd. Located in Etobicoke, Ontario, this role is essential in supporting our manufacturing processes through various tasks including delivering to site locations, heavy lifting and warehouse operations. Your contributions will help us maintain our reputation for exceptional quality and timely delivery.
*Must have valid DZ License with clear abstract
*Must have experience driving 26 foot+ box trucks
*Must have current driving experience with references
Warehouse Responsibilities = 50% of your time
· Upon direction of Shop Floor Manager, when not driving and making deliveries, you will be required to assist on shop floor with daily millwork activities; sanding wood, moving inventory, assisting cabinet makers, etc.
· Loading and offloading trucks for deliveries
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
· Physically capable of standing for long periods of time,
· Wear appropriate safety clothing/equipment
Driving Duties & Responsibilities =50% of your time
· Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of a 26-foot box truck, securing loads in accordance with established safety requirements.
· Plan logistics of the trip, and obtain appropriate paperwork to transport goods and materials, verifying the accuracy of shipping documents with delivery address
· Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections on vehicle and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness including daily safety inspection of truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, tail gate, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind. Notify Production Manager immediately of any defects or damage to truck.
· Report all accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle immediately to the Production Manager
· Responsible for regular transport of materials to client site locations; mostly within GTA area, extended to southern Ontario
· Maintain communication with Project Manager/Production Manager during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received, and to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
· Provide feedback to management regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
· Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, and hours of service, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
· When making deliveries, maintain exemplary customer service skills as a representative of AWFI, including following all instruction as relayed by the General Contract when delivering to a site location
· Safely operate company vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws, company policies and abide by all ministry of transportation rules including posted speed limits
· Safely operate a vehicle in all weather conditions
· Maintain a safe driving record free of violations
· May be required to manually hand-bomb at delivery sites and must be able to safely carry, push, pull, lift items that weigh 50 to 100 pounds a minimal distance of 20 feet
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
· Valid “DZ” class drivers license with valid insurance and must provide a clean driver’s abstract
· Minimum 3 year of commercial driving experience required.
· Able to read a map and accurately plan delivery route
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Professional demeanor and customer service skills
· Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures
· Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills
· Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
· Lifting up to 50 pounds and understand that the contents of the delivery truck must be unloaded by hand at some site locations.
· Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Customer-focused mindset with a problem-solving attitude.
· Experience driving/operating cube vans, 26-foot box truck
· Valid forklift certification an asset
· Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions and the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks

Experience:
Commercial Truck driving: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification: DZ license (required)
