At AWFI, the Millwork Finisher is responsible for applying high-quality stains, paints, and finishes to custom architectural millwork, ensuring colour accuracy, durability, and superior craftsmanship. This role involves using spray equipment and manual techniques to complete detailed finishing work, including colour matching, shading, and touch-ups, while meeting production deadlines. The Finisher maintains a clean and safe work environment and collaborates with the production team to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Responsibilities:

Understanding the best paints, stains and finishes for different types of wood
·         Working with solid woods, veneers, plastic laminates, plywood, MDF, HDF, and particle board

Apply finishes to architectural woodwork, including stains, lacquer-based paints, and sealers, using both spay guns and manual brush strokes.
Work with different types of paint finishes for interior and exterior applications.
Match and apply stains, paints and finishes to various surfaces.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace for efficiency and safety.
Perform shading and other detailed finishing techniques as needed.

Skill Requirements:

Spray booth experience
HVLP guns; Kremlin and Graco preferred
Manual touch ups
·         Knowledgeable in the use and application of various adhesives and finishes involved with woodworking.

·         Ability to be productive independently or as part of a team working on a large project.

·         Strong understanding of millwork materials and finish techniques.

 

Working Conditions:

·         Full-time, with occasional overtime or weekend work, depending on project deadlines

·         Physical work may involve lifting 10 – 20lbs

·         Standing for long periods and using tools and machinery

·         Exposure to wood dust and paint fumes

Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5pm, Fridays 7:30am to 3pm

Salary range = $ 23.00 to $ 28.00 per hour
