General Manager – Manufacturing Operations
Location: Minden (Haliburton Highlands), Ontario

Employment Type: Full-Time
Wages/Remuneration:  Wage Range: $47.50-$55.00 per hour.  3 weeks vacation (6% of wages). 40 hour work week; Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m.-5: 00 p.m.  (occasional Friday/Weekend may be required). Full benefit package after 3 months of employment.

Chaulk, a leader in custom cabinetry and millwork, is looking for an experienced and driven General Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations and support ongoing business growth. This leadership role requires a strong background in the manufacturing industry, with particular value placed on experience managing a cabinetry or millwork shop.

Key Responsibilities
– Lead and oversee day-to-day operations of the production facility, job-sites, and sub-contractor, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
– Manage and mentor team leads and staff across departments, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
– Oversee financial planning and budgeting in collaboration with ownership and finance teams.
Develop and implement strategies for operational improvements, inventory control, and process optimization.
– Coordinate logistics, purchasing, and supply chain activities to ensure seamless workflow.
– Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
– Represent the company professionally in supplier, partner, and customer communications.

Ideal Qualifications
– Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in the manufacturing industry is required.
– Direct experience managing a cabinetry, millwork, or custom woodworking shop is a significant asset.
– Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and performance tracking.
– Hands-on experience with logistics, procurement, and production planning.
– Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft programs Excel, Word and other software applications.
