As a Custom Millworker at Potvin Construction, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality, custom woodwork that meets client specifications and upholds our commitment to excellence. This hands-on role requires proficiency with woodworking machinery, the ability to interpret detailed shop drawings, and a strong understanding of building materials and design intent. The ideal candidate will bring precision, creativity, and efficiency to each project while maintaining a safe, organized, and customer-focused work environment.

Primary responsibilities:

·         Operate woodworking machinery and use hand tools to cut, shape, and form wood components

·         Apply knowledge of building materials to execute high-quality craftsmanship

·         Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and blueprints

·         Prepare accurate work estimates for custom millwork projects

·         Build custom pieces efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality

·         Ensure precision and attention to detail in all tasks

·         Maintain a clean and organized work area, practicing good housekeeping at all times to support a safe and efficient workspace

·         Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to safety principles and best practices

·         Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the proper and safe operation of tools, machinery, and equipment

Requirements:

·         Experience in millwork or a related trade is considered an asset

·         Proficient in reading and interpreting shop drawings and blueprints

·         Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to execute design intent

·         Solid understanding of customer service principles and practices

·         Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Proven ability to multi-task and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
