About the Role
We are actively searching for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Project Coordinator to join our esteemed team at Spearhead. This is an advanced role leveraging senior-level experience and expertise, primarily focused on digital model creation, shop drawing development, fabrication strategy, and mentorship.

The successful candidate will assume an important role in leading the digital aspect of each project by utilizing expert CAD skills and exceptional organizational abilities. They will be trusted to work autonomously while effectively managing priorities with minimal oversight from Sr. Project Managers (Sr. PM) and Project Managers (PM). Seamless project execution through Design Assist and Fabrication coordination is expected. This role necessitates strategic thinking, technical proficiency, and collaborative teamwork to efficiently execute tasks across various project phases and develop capability within project teams.

This position presents a unique opportunity to actively contribute to world-class residential and commercial projects across North America. Reporting Structure
Reports to: Sr. Project Managers and/or Project Managers on a project-specific basis
Oversees: Project Coordinators on a project-specific task basis

Key Areas of Responsibility

Mentorship & Training

  • Leverages senior-level experience to onboard and mentor Project Coordinators, facilitating knowledge sharing and fostering skill development within Digital Planning.
  • Supports project teams by efficiently performing and delegating tasks, ensuring that projects are developed and executed on time and to the highest standards.

Project Strategy Development

  • Collaborates with external team members under the guidance of Sr. PMs or PMs to devise innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Collaborates with internal project teams to effectively support project development with minimal support/supervision, using knowledge base and experience to make informed recommendations.
  • Supports project strategy development by ensuring digital models, scope overviews, joinery and connection proposals, schedules, estimates, and logistics are efficiently generated and effectively communicated both internally and externally.

Modelling & Drafting

  • Remains at the forefront of software development and evolution, including platforms like Cadwork, to guarantee that Spearhead consistently operates at the highest level.
  • Ensures that best practices and SOPs specific to modelling and drafting are efficiently documented and effectively shared within Digital Planning.
  • Converts digital models between various software, ensuring effective and consistent model organization and adherence to standards.
  • Oversees the development of 3D models and shop drawing packages on a project-specific basis, delegating and overseeing task work while providing mentorship and guidance to team members where required.

Estimates, Quotations, & Contracts

  • Support Sr. PMs and PMs with project-specific estimating and quoting.
    Generates material take-offs and performs quantity surveying on a project-specific basis.
  • Ensures the efficient and timely development of project documentation to enable effective estimating, delegating and overseeing task work while providing mentorship and guidance to team members where required.
  • Supports Sr. PMs or PMs with change order management.

Purchasing

  • Contributes to project-specific material procurement and purchasing with minimal oversight from Sr. PMs or PMs.

Fabrication Liaising

  • Holds responsibility for the development of project-specific production drawings and lists, delegating task work to PCs where appropriate.
  • Collaborates with the Technical Office to prepare and hand off projects for CNC processing and fabrication.
  • Actively participates in internal project kick-off meetings, ensuring that all project-specific goals and standards are effectively communicated.
  • Documents and monitors fabrication progress, ensuring project-specific QA/QC is communicated and adhered to.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in architecture, project management, construction management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator (or equivalent) in timber fabrication, mass timber, architecture, steel detailing/fabrication, or construction.
  • High proficiency in Cadwork.
  • Knowledge of architectural modeling software (Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, etc.).
  • Comprehensive understanding of architectural processes, terminology, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Respect for confidential information.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, particularly framing, carpentry, or steel fabrication/erection.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation packages. Remuneration depends on experience and qualifications (base salary bracket of $75,000 – $90,000 / year).
